The BASS III is a breakthrough in music metal forming ingenuity, encompassing study, modification and advanced use of the physical properties of our music metal. Concurrently, other essential elements of "Sound" are factored into the studies. These elements include (1) the bass woods' character and properties (2) the hardware parts (3) human perceptive responses regarding concepts of "poor sound", "good sound" and for us, "the best possible sound" (4) logistical limitations such as (a) manufacturing feasibility / costs given the advanced techniques we've applied to the BASS III (b) application, specifically FENDER Basses for their universal prominence and leadership, and; the most important criteria of all (c) the musicians - the BASS III MUST be a substantial improvement and affordable. It is the most amazing and dramatic unification/harmonizing of string and wood communication that we have ever accomplished. For 30 years, we've improved the sound of Basses with the BASS II for five hole mount bridges of FENDER Basses. We think we've perfected an even more dramatic achievement with the BASS III. The most important last threshold test of the BASS III came down to the most complex and difficult- hurdles of all: the trained musical ears of Bob Willocks, Billy Pirie and Glen Quan. It absolutely has to be the ultimate improvement for Jazz & Precision. In passing these last difficult tasks, we are very pleased to honor Bob and Billy by naming the two different saddles after them. Please note that the Grooved Saddles are named "Billy" and the Full Saddles are named "Bob", as cast in each saddle underneath. In brief, the Grooved saddles have more attack, and the Full saddles are 'wQodier/wQnner' in tone. Note, the BASS III with Bob saddles Must be installed by a professional Luther or guitar repairer to have custom grooves precisely CUT into the metal, DO NOT try this on your own. Billy & Bob's are interchangeable. The BASS III is a direct replacement bridge designed for the many FENDER Jazz & Precision Basses which use three screw mounted bridges.
